End of an Era

No matter where you live in the country, there was most likely a time when you turned on WGN and watched at least part of a Chicago Cubs game.

The Cubs and WGN went together like salt and pepper.

You could still see Harry Caray up in the booth singing “Take Me Out to the Ballgame…”

But sadly, this past weekend, the Cubs broadcast their final game on WGN. The Cubs are moving their telecasts moving to a Sinclair property and they will no longer be on WGN.

I grew up a long way from Chicago and I was fortunate enough to live in the Windy City for a few years.

Buffalo did not have a MLB team and my team was the Cubs. I watched them as a kid and I was able to do so because of WGN.

Now that era is over and to say I’m not sad to see it end would be a lie.

WGN is going under changes with its new owner Nexstar, but a huge part of that station died this past weekend, when they lost the Cubs.
