Be Right, Not First

In an effort to be first, CBS O&O KDKA (Pittsburgh) tweeted out the news that two women were stabbed and one was killed in an attack downtown.

The station said that they women were wearing “Muslin hijabs.” That got many to think this was a hate crime in the Burgh.

The Pittsburgh Police Department then replied to KDKA saying that the information was not correct and that it led to “international speculation of an anti-Muslim hate crime.”
