Hate Mail Pours Into FTVLive From Lexington

After WLEX announced that they were firing morning Anchor Lee Cruse, the FTVLive email inbox was busy getting packed with emails from Lexington viewers that think we were responsible for getting this guy fired.
FTVLive has never gotten anyone fired in TV news, all those people did it on their own.
Cruse calling a racist DJ his “favorite” was bad, real bad, but his apology was worse.
He made a number of excuses as to why he said what he said including the fact that he never reads his scripts before he goes on air. He said that is the reason he did not know the details about the story, because he never read the script in advance.
It was there that FTVLive said that station management should fire him.
Being a TV Anchor is not a back breaking job. You need to look good, act professional, read a teleprompter and PROOF READ YOUR SCRIPTS.
Any Anchor that is too lazy not to read their scripts is not worth having. Couple that with a stupid comment, because he did not read his scripts and that’s a firing.
A WLEX viewer named Herb Brokk emailed FTVLive saying in part, “I am sure you see Lee Cruse as another pelt in your left-wing Moral Majority crusade to rid the country of anyone whom you righteously judge as a racist. Something tells me, though, that if you were to be honest with your own white privileged selves, you’d have to admit you probably have not always met your now vey high standards political correctness.”
“Mary” emailed and said, “Shame on you for making fun of other hard working people. I hope you all go out of business soon.”
A guy named Steve says, “You Nig*er loving liberals need just shut the hell up.”
There were a number of other emails, but I think you get the picture.
We will repeat what we said at the beginning, FTVLive did not get Lee Cruse fired, Lee Cruse got Lee Cruse fired.
FTVLive does not have, nor will ever have the power to get people fired in this business.
But, we will continue to report on people that do stupid things and call them out.
We will also continue to report on the large number of great people in this business, that completely get what it means to be a Journalist.
