Iowa News Director is Gone

Sources tell FTVLive that WOI (Des Moines) has parted ways with News Director April Samp.

WOI was one of the stations that Nexstar spun off to Tegna and since Tegna has taken over, it seems that a management overhaul is taking place.

A look at the jobs posted for the station shows that they are looking for a GM, a Sales Manager, News Director and an Executive Producer.

In other words, the station is very thin when it comes to people in charge.

Samp’s Twitter bio still lists herself as the News Director at WOI, but her job has been posted by Tegna.

Samp had been with the station for about 5 years.
