Former WHEC (Rochester) Chief Meteorologist Jeremy Kappell continues to get bad advice and has now decided to sue the Mayor of Rochester because he got fired.

WHEC sacked Kappell for saying the words "Martin Luther coon King Junior park."

Instead of just saying he was sorry for the mistake, Kappell said he did not say “Coon” and for those that heard it, heard the word “coon” then maybe it is you that is racist, according to Kappell.

He already has a lawsuit against his old station and now he is suing the Mayor of the city as well.

He thinks the Mayor helped get him fired.

Kappell is suing Mayor Lovely Warren on behalf of a “tortious interference with a business relationship, defamation, intentional infliction of emotional distress, negligent infliction of emotional distress” among other claims.

In response to the lawsuit, City of Rochester Corporation Counsel Tim Curtin released this statement:

“The allegations made today are contradictory to the sworn statements made by Jeremy in my office on May 14, 2019. He was fired before the Mayor and the City Council President issued any public statement regarding his racial slur.”

If you ask us, Kappell has handled this incident wrong from the start. He might have still lost his job, but he could have had another one a short time later at a different station.

But, as he continues to pass the blame and sue more and more people, he will find it hard to ever land a job in this business again.

Just saying….
