Bumped Up the Nexstar Food Chain

WTEN (Albany) News Director Dan Salamone is moving up the Nexstar food chain.
The company has now expanded his role to Director/Local Content Development.
Salamone came to WTEN in November 2016 from The Firm's station in Chicago, where he lasted only a year as an Executive Producer.
Salamone will report to corporate Vice President/Local Content Development Jerry Walsh.
“Dan brings to his new position a deep understanding of local news programming and production, digital and social media integration, content monetization and strategic planning and brand positioning across multiple media platforms. Importantly, he has a proven record of identifying new revenue-generating opportunities and developing unique digital and mobile concepts that enhanced audience reach and engagement. Throughout Dan’s career, his initiatives focused on local content leadership and excellence in viewer and client experience have consistently led to ratings and revenue share growth at the stations he has served. With his commitment to broadcast journalism and innovative cross-platform storytelling, Dan is an exceptional addition to the Nexstar’s corporate content management team. We look forward to his contributions as we continue to advance the programming, products and services we provide to local communities and advertisers,” Walsh said.
