Is Sinclair having Second Thoughts?
/Remember when the Sinclair propaganda script had gotten out, but the Anchors at the Sinclair stations had not yet been forced to read it?
It was basically like the company was being given a chance to step back look at it again and make the correct choice of not going forward.
But, instead, Sinclair and VP of News Scott Livingston stood up for what they were about to do. They said that it had been well researched and they were going full steam ahead of forcing their talent to read the script that was nothing more than President Trump talking points.
Well, we all know how that turned out and despite having all the signs that this was exactly how it was going to turn out, Sinclair went ahead and did it anyway.
You can't fix stupid.
As for Livingston, after all the blowback from outside Sinclair and inside he said that maybe they would not do the same thing in the future.
In a statement, Livingston said, "We stand for accurate reporting first and foremost. We understand that the promo prompted an emotional response, and we'll learn from that in the future. We value the connections our anchors have with their communities and trust that they will continue reporting local news for their viewers as only they know how to do."
You ruin your Anchors reputation, you tarnish the stations and then say oops?
Unbelievable.
