ND is Sacked in Roanoke

Sources tell FTVLive that Nextsar has sent WFXR (Roanoke) News Director Rob Tompkins to the unemployment line.

Tompkins joined the station in June 2011 as the Deuce and was bumped up to the main gig in June of 2015. 

Before that, he worked in a sporting goods store and was a General Manager at U-Haul in Salt Lake City. 

He spent just over a year at KUTV as an EP back in 2006. He also worked at KTVX as an Assistant ND before heading to Virginia. 

No word on why he was kicked to the curb and also no word if he called U-Haul to see if he can get his old job back?
