Anchor Gets Bumped Up while on Maternity Leave
/Nexstar owned KARK says that when Anchor Mallory Brooks comes back from maternity leave she'll have some better hours.
Brooks spent the past decade doing the station's morning newscast but now will get the chance to sleep in.
When she returns to the station, Brooks will be anchoring KARK 4 News at 4 p.m.
“Being able to bring the news to Arkansans each morning over the past 10 years has been both an honor and a joy. While I will miss working with our incredible morning show team, I am so grateful to KARK for this new opportunity,” said Brooks.
Brooks began maternity leave earlier this month. She and her husband are expecting their second child.
Ashley Ketz has been anchoring the new 4 p.m. broadcast. When Brooks returns this summer, Ketz will transition back to her role as co-anchor of the 5 p.m., 6 p.m., and 10 p.m. newscasts.
"We can't thank Ashley enough for the exceptional work she, Chief Meteorologist Keith Monahan, and the 4 p.m. news team have done both on-air and behind the scenes," said KARK General Manager Kyle King. "This group did a masterful job creating fresh, timely content for our audiences.
