The Live Shot is Dead

As more and more TV stations move away from microwave and to bonded cellular for live shots, Friday they were reminded of a big vulnerability with that system.

For a few hours on Friday, Dejero, one of the larger players in the cellular live shot game went down across the country.

The issue happened Friday morning and had a number of stations scrambling during their morning newscasts. 
 
"Today I learned that several of our field crews have forgotten how to establish a microwave shot," said a staffer at a West Coast O&O.
