FTVLive FIRST told you that WTTG Anchor Annie Yu had left The Firm’s station in DC.

We also tipped you off that at least two other DC stations were interested in bringing Yu over to their station.

Now, Tegna sources are telling FTVLive that Annie Yu has been hired as the main morning Anchor at WUSA.

No release has been sent out and Yu is still telling viewers on her social media to “stay tuned for an announcement soon.”

But, our sources at Tegna are saying it is a done deal and it will be officially announced this week. This will be one of the best hires made by Tegna all year.

Back in January, FTVLive named Yu as our 2017 TV News Person of the Year. At the time, we said, “Annie Yu is one of the most positive people you will meet with a great attitude and always willing to help out and go the extra mile.”

Word is that Fox owned WTTG offered her a new deal, but Yu was looking to move on from the station she spent the past 15 years.

Sources tell FTVLive that Yu was offered a main Anchor job in Virginia and also had interest from a station on the West coast. It appears that Yu, a DC native was more interested in staying home.

Sinclair’s WJLA also was interested in Yu, along with WUSA. According to our sources, WUSA is the one she picked.

FTVLive saw the talent in Yu over a year ago. It seems others just took longer to catch up.

Stay tuned for an official announcement soon and remember where you heard it FIRST.

As always….
