Back in December, FTVLive told you that KSTP Anchor/Reporter Chris Egert had a portion of his leg amputated.

Egert had been dealing with ankle and leg pain for years and when an infection set in, he knew it was time to lose the leg.

Egert has been keeping viewers informed on his progress on social media.

He posted an update Sunday regarding his recovery process following his partial amputation surgery in December.

Egert wrote that he spent a few hours in the prosthetic clinic last week getting fitted for a prototype leg.

"It was a great opportunity to visit with other amputees who I've become acquainted with on FB," he wrote.

Egert also wrote that the nerve pain he has been experiencing remains "ever present" and that he will be undergoing a different nerve block attempt on Monday.

Egert wrote that a return to the KSTP anchor desk has not yet been set, as he continues focusing on his recovery.
