WLTZ (Columbus, GA) anchor Mallory Hagan joined the station in August of 2016.

But now she might have her sites set on Capitol Hill.

The former Miss America is looking at making a run for Alabama U.S. House District 3 as a Democrat.

It appears that Hagan is accepting donations for a possible campaign, although she did not publicly claim the page, which raised $2,125 from 34 contributors as of late Monday afternoon.

Hagan, who works as the main anchor for the NBC affiliate in Columbus, Georgia, declined to comment about her potential congressional run until Feb. 9, the deadline for Democrats to qualify for the ballot.

Which makes us wonder, if she is exploring a run for office, why is she still on the air?

Shouldn't the station take her off until she makes up her mind?

Hagan recently made news when she was the subject was of internal emails in 2013 among higher-ups with the Miss America Organization who criticized her over her weight and speculated about her sex life.

Then-Miss America Organization CEO Sam Haskell called Hagan "gross," "huge" and a "piece of trash" in the emails, which led to his resignation.
