TV Station Owner is Critically Injured (Update - He Has Died)

The owner of a Salisbury TV station has been critically injured after being hit by a pickup truck.

Delaware State Police are investigating a crash involving WBOC owner Thomas Draper.

Cops say the 76-year-old was bicycling about 7:30 a.m. Thursday when his bicycle was struck by a pickup truck.

Draper was flown to Shock Trauma in Baltimore, where he was listed in critical condition.

Police said drug and alcohol use do not appear to be a factor in the crash, and no charges had been filed as of Thursday afternoon.

Draper is the longtime owner of WBOC-TV, the CBS affiliate based in Salisbury, Maryland, with satellite newsrooms in Dover and Milton, Delaware.

Update: Sadly Thomas Draper has died from his injuries.
