What The Hell Happened to NBC's Storm Rangers?

Remember the Storm Ranger fleet that the NBC O&O's bragged so much about?
Well, what the hell happened to them?
About a year ago, NBC made a big deal about their portable radar "Storm Ranger" truck. NBC wanted viewers to believe that each NBC O&O had their own Storm Ranger, but the truth is it was just a few trucks shared amongst the O&O's.
But lately, the Storm Rangers have gone M-I-A.
With a hurricane is heading towards Texas, KXAS has only mentioned sending their "Thunder Truck" to cover it, which has a radar but isn't the Storm Ranger.
The last tweet from @StormRanger (which appears to have been shared between all the Rangers) was on May 13th and the last time it was seen in the wild with the #StormRanger hashtag was on July 3rd in Philadelphia.
Is the Storm Ranger just a big bust for NBC?
