From El Paso to the Burgh

Word is that Kevin Hayes the current General Manager at KFOX/KDBC in El Paso is being named the new GM at WPXI in Pittsburgh. 

Hayes moves from the Sinclair station back to a Cox owned station. He's been the GM at KFOX for almost 5 years. Before that he worked for Cox as GM of their Johnstown, PA station.  

Hayes will replace Ray Carter, who was bumped up the Cox food chain as a VP. 

Carter replaced the legendary John Howell as GM at the Burgh station back in 2001. 

Hayes inherits a veteran news staff and Barb Gallagher, one of the best TV salespeople in the world. 

No word on a start date.
