Yahoo to Lose Global News Anchor

FTVLive predicted this months ago and now it appears that Yahoo's Global News Anchor (still not sure what that is?) will be leaving the tech company.

Page Six says that Katie Couric is eyeing an exit from Yahoo amid its sale to a yet-to-be-named buyer.

While company execs have been buzzing that the media superstar is preparing to announce that she’s departing after 2 ¹/₂ years as a global anchor at Yahoo News, sources close to Couric say she will wait to find out who buys the struggling tech giant.

Multiple insiders tell Page Six that Couric — along with other talent including Yahoo Style’s Editor-in-Chief Joe Zee and tech writer David Pogue — have had long-standing frustrations because they believe the site makes it difficult for users to find their content.

They also suspect the Silicon Valley firm has skimped on spending on ads that could drive traffic to their content.

But as the company undergoes a harrowing sale process, which has seen hundreds of layoffs and the closure of seven of its sites, we’re told Couric believes it may be time to leave. “She’s thinking about her next act,” said an insider.
