Ft. Myers Station to Name New News Director Shortly

Sometime in the next hour or so, WINK in Ft. Myers is going to name a new News Director to the staff. 

While others will wait for an official press release or for the staff to be told, FTVLive will tell you right now who they are hiring. 

Former WFLD News Director Tom Doerr is headed to Ft. Myers to become the new ND at the station. Doerr was looking to get back to south Florida for family reasons and is now moving from the Fox O&O (AKA The Firm) and to a smaller market, where he won't have to watch every move and be able to actually talk to the press when he wants to. 

FTVLive told you back in March that WINK had parted ways with News Director Russ Kilgore after 7 1/2 years at the station.
