Sources tell FTVLive that TEGNA has very quietly started offering up a voluntary retirement program.
TEGNA is telling staff that they are offering a voluntary retirement program to help 'embrace change to continue succeed' i.e. get rid of the old people that make a lot of money.
Word is the plan is being offered to staffers 55 or older with 15 or more years in certain job titles.
Of course you all have been in TV news long enough to know what happens after the "voluntary" plan doesn't get rid of enough people.
