Harrisburg Anchor Fired After Telling Joke
/WHTM Anchor/Reporter Al Gnoza has left the building and the station isn't saying why?
But, it seems like it was a joke about Three Mile Island that Gnoza gonzo from the station. Gnoza's response to a fan last week on Twitter suggested that he had been reprimanded following a joke he made on air about the semi-annual Three Mile Island emergency warning sirens, but was hoping to return to the air Dec. 8.
The joke, according to a Tweet that Gnoza shared on his profile, was "If you hear a siren tomorrow, we are all going to die."
It appears that the suspension has turned into a firing, but of course, the station isn't talking. "Because this is a personnel matter, I can only tell you that Mr. Gnoza is no longer an employee of ABC27," WHTM GM Joe Lewin said.
Gnoza, who was at the station for a decade is also not talking, but his fans are on social media:
