News is Easy, Comedy is Hard

The New York Post Page Six says that Brian Williams could be expanding into entertainment.

The NBC anchor is repped by lawyer Robert B. Barnett, whose clients have included Bob Woodward, but sources say Williams — known to do a mean stand-up routine — is being pursued by Hollywood agency CAA to expand his résumé.

“His next move could be comedy or even a late-night show,” said a source. But another source countered that the anchor regularly lunches with CAA’s Richard Lovett, who is a friend.

An NBC rep said: “Brian has never chosen to hire an entertainment agent and isn’t looking for another job. He has been a friend and client of [Bob’s] for years. Brian’s exposure to late-night will remain as a viewer and occasional guest.”
