After 3 years at WCNC in Charlotte, Morning Anchor Kellie Patterson is leaving the station.

Patterson came to Charlotte from KENS in San Antonio in 2010 and she also competed on CBS Amazing Race.

Here is the internal memo that News Director Corrie Harding sent out to the staff:

Ladies and Gentlemen,

It’s been a week…

I’ve got some news on Kellie Patterson.  She’ll be leaving WCNC TV to take on a new opportunity.  Kellie’s been a critical part of our morning news effort for almost three years, and I’m thankful for her efforts on that show, as well as working on the medical news segments for the 4pm and other special projects.  She particularly helped us by field anchoring during the coverage of those awful storms in York County.

This is one of those situations that is ‘good news’ for Kellie, but a few other things need to shake out before we’ll all know all the details on just how good it is.

Her last day on the air with us will be Friday, August 30th.   I hope you’ll join me in wishing Kellie the best of luck in the future.

Thanks,
Corrie
