The Worst Reporting Ever by a Network..... Ever

Sure.... the days of reporting the story objectively are long over, but this Weekend CNN did something more shocking.

A Steubenville Judge found two Teenage boys guilty of raping a 16 year old girl, plus taking nude pictures of her and posting them to the Internet.

A horrendous crime for sure. But because the boys were teenagers, they will only spend a year or two in jail. If that was your sister or daughter that was raped, you might feel that the sentence surely didn't fit the crime.

But, watching CNN Reporter Poppy Harlow, you would think that these poor poor boys that just had a little bit of fun raping that girl have had their lives ruined by this stupid girl that got raped.

At least when you watch her reporting, it's the way it came off.

Harlow said at the top of her report:

"Incredibly difficult, even for an outsider like me, to watch what happened as these two young men that had such promising futures, star football players, very good students, literally watched as they believed their lives fell apart...when that sentence came down, [Ma'lik] collapsed in the arms of his attorney...He said to him, 'My life is over. No one is going to want me now.'"

But the sympathy for the rapists didn't end there. Candy Crowley got in on the pity party for the two rapists (note: earlier we attributed the below quotes to Harlow and not Crowley....Our mistake).

"Sixteen-year-olds just sobbing in court, regardless of what big football players they are, they still sound like sixteen-year-olds...what's the lasting effect, though, on two young men being found guilty in juvenile court of rape, essentially?"

And then she continued:

"The most severe thing with these young men is being labeled as registered sex offenders. That label is now placed on them by Ohio law...That will haunt them for the rest of their lives. Employers, when looking up their background, will see that they're registered sex offenders. When they move into a new neighborhood and somebody goes on the Internet, where these things are posted, neighbors will know that they are registered sex offenders."

Here's some news for Poppy...these guys are sex offenders! They were tried and convicted! The boys "promising futures" were ruined by a judge. They were ruined when they decided to rape a 16 year old girl.

If Jeff Zucker wants to make some changes at CNN, start be getting reporters that report facts and maybe a few that don't take the side of rapists.

This is some of the worst reporting we have ever seen at a network level.
