This is the One App Every News Department Needs

As you know, when it comes to Sponsors on FTVLive we only accept companies that are at the top of their game and companies that believe in.

When FTVLive decided to knock down the paywall, we reached out to the best companies in and around TV News. Those were the companies that we wanted on board.

FTVLive has done what not many other websites (or TV stations for that matter) would ever do. We have turned down company and a TV Agent that wanted to place and ad on this website.

If we don't believe in the company, how can we put their product before you guys? We can't and we won't.

So now I want to tell you about a new product that is not advertising on FTVLive.

It's the app called TVinteract.

And this app is a no brainer for every TV news department.

TVinteract was created by Jenni Hogan. If you don't know who Jenni Hogan is, she is to social media and TV News what iJustine is to YouTube and gaming. If you don't know who iJustine is? Google her.

Because we thought that TVinteract was so cool and a must have by TV stations, FTVLive reached out to Hogan asking her if she wanted to place an ad on FTVLive.com?

Like all start ups, it's about having the cash and trying to find it.

We could have promised Hogan that if she placed an ad on our site, we would write a glowing review of her product. That's the tact of many websites, you want some play, you got to pay.

Well, we are going to write a glowing review of TVinteract even if Hogan doesn't spend a single penny with us. Why? Because her product is that good and you guys need to know about.

So, just what is TVinteract?

It's an app that is sold in the Apple app store. The best way to describe TVinteract.... it blends traditional media and social media.

More and more stations are using viewer's and newsmaker's tweets on the air. Of course you know what a pain in the ass it is to do that. More often than not you get the Graphics Department involved. They pull up the tweet, capture it, place it on the station's background and then load it into the system. From the time you saw the tweet, until it hits airs and be quite awhile.

TVinteract does all of this in matter of seconds. The app allows the display of tweets on-air in a curated, broadcast-ready fashion.

Your station can have the TVinteract app on a standard iPad and output broadcast formatted and ready tweets in real-time.

The tweets get on the air faster and they appear in your station's graphic style with no need for the graphics department or pre-production.

The interface is very simple. It’s one screen that shows up on an iPad that allows a talent or producer to search for a topic, hashtag, or username they want to track. If they see a tweet they like, they drag it to the “On air cue” column and hit live and that Tweet will be formatted to go direct to air.

It really is that simple.

If your station doesn't download this app, I can assure you, you're missing out. This app is the future and the future is now.

The only thing I don't like about this app, is that I didn't come up with it. It's that good and a big congrats to Jenni Hogan for inventing it.

Here's a link to the TVinteract home page and here's a link to Hogan's blog explaining why and how she came up with this great idea.
