After 2 1/2 years WXIX anchor Ben Swann said he's leaving the station at the end of the May book.

Swann come to the station from El Paso in 2010 to replace Dan Carroll as Tricia Macke’s co-anchor. Swann was only the third main co-anchor since Channel 19 started news in 1993 with Jack Atherton.​

NBC has finally confirmed the worst kept secret maybe ever.

Jimmy Fallon is taking over the Tonight Show from Jay Leno.​

NBC sent out a press release saying that "Jay Leno announces his departure from the Tonight Show." Of course this is total B.S., Leno would have stayed at the Tonight Show until they took him out feet first.​

But, after meeting with NBC, Leno decided to fall of his sword ​and go along with the whole "yeah I'm leaving thing."

Nils Larsen has exited as Tribune Broadcasting's President and Chief Executive Officer, as well as exiting Tribune Company as a whole. This includes ending his role as Executive Vice President & Chief Investment Officer for Tribune Company. 

Larsen's exit was confirmed to CRM by a spokesperson for Tribune Company today, but no official statement will be made on the exit.

Whether it's the rhetoric from the Right (Fox News) or the squabbling from the Left (MSNBC) it appears that viewers might be getting tired of cable news in general.

The ratings for cable news continued its decline. In the month of March, every cable news outlet saw their numbers drop from a year ago.

Fox News lead the way in losing viewers. FNC fell over 30 percent from its 2012 numbers.

CNN wasn't far behind, shedding almost 30% of their viewers.

Conrad Murray not only spoke to Cooper via phone, he also sang to Coop. 

Murray did not really reveal much as the hook to the interview was the wrongful death suit filed by Jackson's mother Katherine.

The interview was the usual crap until  it turned really weird.

​The Associated Press announced that they are going to drop the term "illegal immigrant" from their style guide. 

It will be interesting to see how many in the media industry follow the AP's lead?

The AP said on Tuesday that it has decided to abandon the contentious term, which many Latino and immigrant-rights activists have long called dehumanizing. The wire service's decision is bound to be influential; it has perhaps the most widely-used style guide in the country.
