Rumors Heat Up that Fallon is in and Leno is Out

Rumors Heat Up that Fallon is in and Leno is Out

NBC swears up and down that Jimmy Fallon is not replacing Jay Leno, even though he totally is.

Of course, when FTVLive BROKE the World EXCLUSIVE that Leno was headed back to the Tonight Show to replace Conan O'Brien, NBC denied that as well...right up until it happened.

Well it looks like that once again, NBC is screwing up another late night transition.

Poppy is Pissed

Poppy is Pissed

Word is that CNN Reporter Poppy Harlow is pissed about the criticism she has gotten since her live report from the Steubenville Rape Trial.

FTVLive had called the report between her and anchor Candy Crowley back in the studio as the worst network reporting job we have ever seen.

Just after the verdict of guilty was handed down to the two boys that raped a teenage girl, Harlow said “It’s incredibly emotional, even for an outsider like me. These two young men, with promising futures, star football players, A students, literally watched as their lives fell apart.”

See how Poppy thinks her critics are being unfair after the Jump

When the News Dept. Couldn't, San Antonio Sports Anchor Saw the Big Picture

When the News Dept. Couldn't, San Antonio Sports Anchor Saw the Big Picture

While WOAI was falling all over themselves to report on a fire that happened at their station, families across town were looking for a place to live.

Their apartment building caught fire and at least a dozen families were left without a place to call home.

WOAI gave that story a few minutes on the newscasts, but was dwarfed by the coverage the station gave to themselves on a fire at their own station in which no one was hurt.

The news department got lost in the "look at us" story and lost sight of their perspective.

But WOAI Sports Director Don Harris clearly didn't.

Find out what he did after the Leap

Station Goes Way Overboard with Fire Coverage

Station Goes Way Overboard with Fire Coverage

Last Summer a deadly fire broke out at a group home in San Antonio. 13 mentally disabled men who lived there found their only exit blocked by fire. 3 of the men died.

A tragic story to say the least. Yet that story did not get nearly the news coverage on WOAI that station gave to a fire yesterday in which no one was killed and no one lost their home.

WOAI did breaking news and special reports from a fire that happened in their own building! The blaze started on the 2nd floor in the Traffic Department and was quickly put out by firefighters.

Yet, the station treated the story as if hundreds died in the fire.

More on how WOAI lost their way as they made the newscast "all about us" after the Jump

Ummmm.... That's Not Quite Right

Like every other station and network, KTVT in Dallas has been covering the new Pope and what it means to the Catholic Church.

Pope Francis is the first Pope from South America and unfortunately it's a place that KTVT doesn't know much about. Check out the graphic about and you'll see that they moved Argentina about 4,000 miles to the north in South America.

Moving an entire city 4,000 miles is impressive. But KTVT didn't stop there. They moved an ocean as well. The Indian Ocean is moved on the graphic in place of the South Pacific Ocean.

Let's hope the KTVT viewers forgive them...we know Pope Francis does.

Somebody's Lying and We Think we Know Who

Wayne County Prosecutor Kim Worthy says she has received requests for warrants over the alleged assault involving WJBK (Detroit) Fox 2 reporter Charlie LeDuff and a security guard. It all happened after the St. Patty’s Day parade in Corktown a week ago.

In his police report, LeDuff provides lots of details about what happened that day to him and his brother, who he says were victims in an attack.

But days before he filed his police report, WXYZ asked LeDuff what happened and he didn’t remember much.

“I’m not really sure. I was offered to come have a drink. It turned into a fight, trying to get guys off me and my brother,” said LeDuff, who also wasn’t clear on accusations that he urinated in public.

“I don’t remember taking a leak,” he said. “No, I don’t think I was standing in the street doing that. I think I was behind the tent.”
