Got Matt's Back

Got Matt's Back

When Howie Kurtz did his story trying to paint Matt Lauer not as the guy that got rid of Ann Curry (even though he totally was) some insiders were surprised to see NBCUniversal CEO Steve Burke featured prominently.

“You’re the best person who’s ever done this,” Burke is quoted as having told Lauer when the anchor offered to resign if it would help the show. “We’ll get through this.”

The Hollywood Reporter writes that Burke was intimately involved in shepherding Lauer's new $25 million-a-year contract last year.

It's White!!!...oh wait...Nope it's Black again

In a world of instant information, it seems odd that we are still using smoke signals to get the news out of the Catholic Church.

Instead of sending out a Tweet a Facebook post or I don't know just stepping outside and saying "Nope, nothing yet."

We get reporters going "Oh! Ohhh! Is it.. It's--! Oh. Oh. Nope. Totally looked white for a second."

We're all for tradition and all, but breaking news through smoke signals seems just a bit odd.

Than again...that's just us....

Young Viewers Stay Away from Daytime TV

Young Viewers Stay Away from Daytime TV

Know we know why Larry King lunged at Katie Couric.

Old people dig her....along with the rest of daytime TV.

The NY Daily News writes that it turns out that daytime TV shows, many of which — like “TMZ” hope to attract young, wealthy viewers — appeal to some of the oldest viewers of all, according to Nielsen.

It’s Madison Avenue’s worst nightmare.

For example, if you are 59 years old and watch Katie Couric’s daytime show, you actually bring down the average age of her viewership.
