A St. Louis news anchor has an impressive live shot to put on his resume tape.

KSDK anchor Pat McGonigle had tried to make several long-distance shots during the station’s morning newscast, and missed all of them.

Then at the end of the show, McGonigle tried to drop-kick shot, but it hit the backboard.

His second shot, however, was nothing but net!

BBC Journalists Walk Out on Strike

Today BBC journalists began a 24-hour strike in protest at compulsory redundancies, causing possible disruption to the broadcaster's television and radio output.

Members of the National Union of Journalists (NUJ) walked out at midnight local time  over job cuts which are expected to affect BBC Scotland, Five Live, the Asian Network and the World Service.

NUJ general secretary Michelle Stanistreet explained: "NUJ members across the BBC are taking action to defend jobs and quality journalism at the corporation.

Candidates should have a minimum three years experience in all facets of television news photography including lighting, audio and editing, and show exceptional knowledge and creativity in these areas. Applicants should have a good eye for news photography, be able to work in the field unsupervised or with various reporters and be able to work in deadline situations. The ideal candidate will have experience or be able to operate a microwave live truck and must be able to lift and carry 30 lbs. of equipment.

Casey Anthony Judge Shocked at the People Fixated with the Case

Judge Belvin Perry says he was very surprised at how many people were interested in the Casey Anthony murder trial.

The Orlando Sentinel writes that Chief Judge Perry says he was “totally surprised” by the number of people who were “totally fixated” by the Casey Anthony case.

In a revealing interview on WFTV-Channel 9’s “Central Florida Spotlight,” Perry mentioned several reasons for that fixation: Grandparents George and Cindy Anthony were “pulling out all stops” to find their granddaughter, Calyee.

News Director wanted for the Cordillera Broadcasting television duopoly in Corpus Christi, Texas.

The News Director is responsible for supervising one of the largest television news departments in South Texas while executing a dual-brand strategy that produces ratings growth for both KRIS-TV (NBC) and KZTV-TV (CBS).

The News Director will work at both a strategic and tactical level to carry out each station's Action Plan.

At the strategic level, the News Director must work closely with other senior station personnel, especially the station's promotions department. The News Director must be able to effectively communicate and inspire department personnel to implement the daily requirements of the Action Plan(s).

The News Director will manage all news content delivered on multiple platforms and will monitor and critique newscasts, web content, and the department's use of social media.
