Greta Van Susteren Out at Fox News
/Well this one sure is a surprise and if you read between the lines it appears that this was not a amicable parting by any sense.
Fox News announced that Greta Van Susteren is out and that Brit Hume will be taking over her time slot.
It all starts Tonight.
Van Susteren will depart the network after 14 years and in a joint statement Bill Shine and Jack Abernethy were first point out Hume and basically blew off Van Susteren.
Abernethy and Shine said in a joint statement, "As one of the best political analysts in the industry, Brit is the ideal choice to host a nightly political program while the most dynamic and captivating election in recent history unfolds. Having Brit at the helm of this show will enable FOX News to continue on track to have its highest-rated year ever as the network dominates the cable news landscape."
Commenting on Van Susteren’s departure, Abernethy and Shine jointly said, “We are grateful for Greta's many contributions over the years and wish her continued success.”
Hume added, "I am happy to take on this assignment for the balance of this extraordinary election. My FOX News colleagues have set a high standard for political coverage which I'll do my best to uphold. I'm honored to be asked."
It will be very interesting if someone can get to the bottom of what happened to make this sudden change?
Van Susteren is very active on Twitter and has not addressed her leaving as of yet. In fact, over the weekend, she was encouraging Fox News viewers to keep watching her on FNC.
So it seems that this is a total surprise.
