Changes at NWT

TV talent agency NWT is making some changes at the company.

NWT says that Julian Rodriguez, recipient of one of NAHJ’s highest honors, will be adding to his portfolio as he joins The NWT Group as a Consultant/New Business development for NWT en Español.

Mr. Rodriguez is known nationwide for his work as the creator and News Director of UTA News en Español at The University of Texas at Arlington. That program has trained and developed some of the brightest news journalists for both Telemundo and Univision.
In granting Mr. Rodriguez the Presidential ¡Dale! Award, NAHJ recognized his contributions calling him an “inspiration to hundreds of journalism students...an impassioned advocate for Spanish language journalism...making a tremendous impact on the next generation of Latino journalists...”
His professional interests are not limited to Spanish-language media. He currently advises the National Association of Black Journalists (NABJ) as well as the National Association of Hispanic Journalists (NAHJ) chapters at The University of Texas at Arlington.

Mr. Rodriguez worked at KOLN-KGIN in Nebraska before joining UT- Arlington in 2008. His current focus is on Hispanic-American media adoption of online tools and social networks to distribute content, crowdsource and interact with followers.
He is also working on a bilingual book on writing and producing for Spanish- language television news in the United States.

The NWT Group is also pleased to announce that Liz Hart, one of the most respected agents in the industry, has been named Vice President of Digital News and Programming.

Ms. Hart joined The NWT Group in 2015. Throughout her career, she has successfully mentored and placed her clients into highly sought after broadcasting positions including: CBS News, CBS Syndicated Television, CNN’s “New Day,” CNN correspondents, NBC’s Weekend Today, ABC News, NFL Network and into many Top 10 markets.

Prior to becoming an on-air agent, Ms. Hart served as Vice President/General Manager for one of the leading talent recruitment firms in the country, Don Fitzpatrick Associates in San Francisco, beginning in 1988.

In her new role, Ms. Hart will be working with journalists across all platforms with a focus on programming and the rapidly expanding digital news world.

“These moves by The NWT Group and The NWT Group en Español reaffirm our commitment to staying at the forefront of expanding arenas of journalism,” said NWT founder Linda Levy. “As they work with our already well-respected team of agents, we believe this will solidify our reputation as one of the “go-to” places to find the brightest journalists of this best generation and beyond.”
