CBS Drops "Conspiracy" Motion in Lawsuit

Yesterday, FTVLive told you that CBS was again trying to delay a lawsuit, brought against them by former KYW Anchor Alycia Lane.

Just when it appeared that a date had been set, CBS has stepped in with conspiracy claims over a judge change in the case.

After FTVLive posted the story, CBS has now decided to drop the conspiracy claims and the case seems to be moving forward once again.

Lane filed the lawsuit 8 years ago, against KYW and CBS for failing to stop former coanchor Larry Mendte from hacking her email and feeding salacious details and photos to gossip columnists.

Mendte pleaded guilty in federal court in August 2008 to a felony charge of hacking Lane's emails. He now host a radio show in Delaware.

Lane is out of the business and lives in Los Angeles with her husband and two children.

The case against CBS is slated to start in October.
