Headed Home

For almost 2 decades, Craig Moeller forecast the weather at WVEC in Norfolk, he says there was only one job in the country that could get him to leave Virginia.

And he was offered and accepted that job.

Moeller who grew up in the St. Louis area is headed back to become the  Chief Meteorologist for KSDK.

News director Karin Movesian said Moeller will work the main newscasts during the week, and an exact schedule is being formulated. "But he's the main meteorologist," she said. He starts at the end of the month.

The weather bureau at KSDK has been running short-staffed since stalwart cloudwatchers Cindy Preszler and Mike Roberts retired in April under the Tegna buyouts.

And while the station was announcing their new Weather hire, KSDK GM Marv Danielski was packing up his desk and leaving the station.

Danielski's short stint at the helm was marked with staff reductions and behind-the-scenes grumbling —a healthny share of that coming from the Preszler/Roberts move.

KSDK sales manager Alicia Elsner will serve as interim general manager until a replacement for Danielski is named.
