Roanoke News Director: This is Why I Left

When WDBJ (Roanoke) News Director Kelly Zuber left the station in May after 34 years, she said this, “Changes are coming, so the change in ownership seemed like a good time to step away and pursue new things,” she said.

The station was being taken over Gray and Zuber obviously had a heads up to what was coming.

On Friday, Gray laid off staff across many of their stations, but WDBJ was hit very hard. 

Zuber took to social media and said that this is the reason she left the station, she said she, "just couldn't execute this plan."

Zuber also offered her help to the many staffers that lost their job.
