Weatherman Arrested at the Station on Child Porn Charges

FTVLive was the FIRST to tell you (even before his own station) that a WTNH Weather Anchor was arrested at the station on child porn charges.

Justin Goldstein, who has been at WTNH since 2013 was arrested at the station's studio by members of the state police Computer Crimes Unit.

Investigators had been tracking Goldstein since June, when they discovered videos depicting child pornography had been downloaded to an account registered to him. They served a warrant on his Hamden home early Wednesday and seized computers and other electronic equipment, his arrest warrant says.

While examining the equipment, the troopers discovered the pornography, according to the warrant.

Goldstein was charged with promoting a minor in an obscene performance and possession of child pornography, state police said. He posted $200,000 bail and is scheduled to appear July 26 in Superior Court in Meriden.

Although police seized Goldstein's computers, he obviously had access to one, because, it appears that hedeleted his Twitter account last night.

The station did not report the story of their weatherman's arrest on their website, until just before the 5:00PM newscast.

WTNH GM Mark Higgins released this statement in regards to his employee's arrest: We are deeply concerned by the allegations. Until the matter is resolved, Justin Goldstein is suspended from his duties at WTNH.”

When the station did report the story on their newscast, they had Reporter Kelly Sullivan from WPRI do the story. And, although Goldstein was arrested at the station,it appears that no one shot video of the arrest.
