Reading the Tea Leaves in Atlanta (Updated)
/Nothing firm to report, but if FTVLive reads the tea leaves, it appears a few on air changes are getting ready to go down at one Atlanta station.
Yesterday, FTVLive FIRST told you that KMOV main Anchor Alissa Reitmeier was leaving the station to follow her husband to Birmingham.
Could Reitmeier soon be popping up at WGCL in Atlanta? This week, a couple of staffers at WGCL in Atlanta starting following Reitmeier on social media. Furthermore, the VP/GM at WGCL Mark Pimente, was the VP/GM of KMOV during part of Reitmeier career there. He has a reputation of bringing people on board who he has worked with before. A couple of examples include their new news director, Sharon Reed, Julian Johnson.
Updated: Those tea leaves are wilted and dried up. Reitmeier contacted FTVLive and says she has no plans on going to WGCL. "While I absolutely respect Mark Pimentel and the work he is doing at CBS 46 in Atlanta, there have been no conversations between us about my potential employment or interviewing there. I haven't spoken with Mark since he left KMOV," Reitmeier tells FTVLive. She adds that she is leaving KMOV on great terms and is looking forward to spending more time with her family.
But, the tea leaves has another one from WGCL....
It appears that Paul Ossmann will not be staying on mornings at the CBS affiliate. A Traffic Anchor position opening was posted to Meredith's website yesterday.
WGCL tried "Team Weather" in the mornings where Paul Ossmann worked with Jen Valdez, but it was clear the Jen did mainly weather and Paul did mainly traffic.
It now looks like Ossmann is moving on from the morning show.
As we said, nothing firm on these moves, but FTVLive reads the tea leaves and that's what we see as happening.
Stay tuned....
