Well.... That's Not Exactly YUGE!
/We can assure you that Megyn Kelly expected her ratings for her first Fox special, "Megyn Kelly Presents..." to be through the roof.
They were not....
While Kelly started off the show lobbing softballs to her new BFF Donald Trump, the viewers did not tune in, in droves.
The show drew an average of 4.8 million viewers, according to early Nielsen figures. Not an awful number, but surely not a blockbuster. CBS's NCIS pulled in over 17 million in the same time slot.
Along with Trump, Kelly had on actor Michael Douglas who is long past his prime and Robert Shapiro to talk about the O.J. Simpson trial that ended over a decade ago. It was not exactly guests that were top of mind, that's for sure.
Kelly also talked to Laverne Cox, the transgender woman actress. When Diane Sawyer sat down with the transgender to be, Bruce Jenner, the show pulled in 17 million in the ratings.
So, for those that want to anoint Megyn Kelly as the next Barbara Walters or Diane Sawyer, you can see, she has a long way to go.
