Flood Knocks Out Power at KPRC

While Houston stations were covering the historic flooding to hit the city, it was a tough go for KPRC.

The nasty weather knocked power out to the station most of the day. Flood waters entered KPRC and stranded live trucks.

"The safety of our employees is, and always will be, our top priority," said KPRC General Manager Jerry Martin. "Once it became apparent that electricity could pose a safety threat when attempting to switch on the back-up generator, it was an easy decision to wait until we could get an electrician through the flood waters to properly handle the situation."

The station did well to cover the story on their website and used social media as much as possible. But without power, KPRC was left standing in the flood water.
