This morning FTVLive told you that WFLD Executive Producer Dan Salamone wrote a memo from his warm and cozy office, telling female talent who report on the morning newscast, to not to wear hats during their outdoor live shots this winter.

Well, it now appears the station is backing off the no hat policy and throwing Salamone under the bus at the same time.

After the new policy became the joke of the Internet, WFLD GM Dennis Welsh says that Salamone was wrong and there is no policy requiring female Reporters not to wear hats.

Word is that Salamone has been called on the carpet for embarrassing WFLD.
