Philly Stations Bringing in Non-Union Photogs for Pope Coverage
/Last week, FTVLive told you that unions representing Photographers at two Philly stations had voted to strike.
Over 100 photographers and technicians at both KYW and WCAU voted to strike over stalled contract negotiations.
Both unions said they are using Pope Francis’ visit to Philadelphia as their target to help try and speed along negotiations.
Philly sources tell FTVLive that both stations are bringing in non-union Photographers from other markets to work on the Pope coverage.
Photographers from Dallas and other markets have made their way to Philly to help with coverage.
The main sticking point in the contract negotiations is salary increases, with management offering 2 percent bumps and the union angling for 3 to 3.5 percent raises.
