What About Bob?

CBS Bob Schieffer announced he was going to retire last month.

When he made the announcement, Schieffer said he would be leaving sometime this Summer.

Well now it appears that Bob isn't going to make it to Summer, he's leaving this month. The longtime CBS newsman says he is stepping down May 31st.

last Sunday as host of CBS' "Face the Nation" will be on May 31.

It will give his replacement John Dickerson time to get settled in over the slow Summer months and get ready to cover the never ending Presidential race in earnest in the Fall. 

As for Schieffer, he hasn't said what he will be doing after leaving as the network's chief Washington correspondent.

But he did say that if he continues to do any TV work, he'll never work any place other than CBS."
