The Replacements
/Back in January, FTVLive told you that Canadian News Anchor Leslie Roberts has been "resigned" from the network after an investigation found he is secretly the part owner of a public relations firm whose clients — lawyers, small businesses and others — appear on his show.
Well, 5 months later and the network has finally named his replacements.
Global News says they are making major changes to all of its Toronto newscasts, including new anchors and a new name for its flagship newscast.
Veteran politics reporter Alan Carter and former CP24 anchor Farah Nasser will team as co-anchors of the rebranded Global News at 5:30 and 6 (formerly known as The News Hour).
The network says the changes mark the “redefining” of Global’s Toronto newscasts as the station moves to a new format, heavily reliant on virtual sets and 3-D graphics.
“We’re thrilled to welcome strong new talent to our winning team of committed journalists,” Ward Smith, Global News’ Director, Eastern Stations and Station Manager for Global Toronto,
