The Replacements

Back in January, FTVLive told you that Canadian News Anchor Leslie Roberts has been "resigned" from the network after an investigation found he is secretly the part owner of a public relations firm whose clients — lawyers, small businesses and others — appear on his show.

Well, 5 months later and the network has finally named his replacements.

Global News says they are making major changes to all of its Toronto newscasts, including new anchors and a new name for its flagship newscast.

Veteran politics reporter Alan Carter and former CP24 anchor Farah Nasser will team as co-anchors of the rebranded Global News at 5:30 and 6 (formerly known as The News Hour).

The network says the changes mark the “redefining” of Global’s Toronto newscasts as the station moves to a new format, heavily reliant on virtual sets and 3-D graphics.

“We’re thrilled to welcome strong new talent to our winning team of committed journalists,” Ward Smith, Global News’ Director, Eastern Stations and Station Manager for Global Toronto,
