Signing Off in San Francisco

Longtime KPIX Weekend Anchor Ann Notarangelo is leaving the station.

Notarangelo has been at the station since 2001 and is leaving to spend more time with......oh you know the rest.

This Sunday night will be her last.

She broke the news to viewers on Facebook:

Dear friends,

The time has come.

My dad used to say he was the luckiest man he knew. I now know what he was talking about. For the last 14 years, I've had the good fortune of living out my childhood dream; to anchor and report for the tv station I grew up watching.

My mother taught me to enjoy the journey. Now the time has come to pursue new dreams; they include more time with my family and working for my community more directly. I wanted to let you know my last day on air at KPIX5 will be Sunday, April 26th.

I will tell you about my next adventure in another post, because right now I'd like to say "thank you."

Thank you, to all of you who helped me along the way. It's been a glorious 25 years, starting at CNN Washington and moving West to WJRT-TV (Flint, MI), ABC30 (Fresno, CA) and ending up where I always hoped I'd be at KPIX5. . Thank you to the countless people who have answered my calls, texts and email and invited me over for an interview. Of course, thank you to our viewers, especially those of you who have tuned in on weekends for the last 11 years.

What fun it's been to watch history unfold, cover stories that were exciting or touched my heart and meet extraordinary people. It hasn't been easy covering sad, or disturbing stories but during those days, I was often reminded of the power of the human spirit.

I'm one lucky girl.

Wishing you only good news,

Ann
