Tribune's WPIX plans to add New York's only 6:30p newscast and they're bringing back a familiar face to anchor.
Brenda Blackmon with co-anchor with Kaity Tong. Blackmon spent 23 years at WWOR-TV, until they canceled news in 2013. PIX's GM, Rich Graziano, says Brenda & Kaity will be a powerhouse team for the market's only 6:30p local news.
In 1973, Blackmon became the first African American news anchor in Columbus, GA; her hometown.
The new newscast will debut sometime in mid-January, but shhhhhh....... it's not official yet.
