Whatever happened to copy editing?

It used to be that if you got a job at the network, you were considered among the best in the business. Now, it seems, it's more important to be first than accurate.

Here's a perfect example. In someone's haste at CBS This Morning, Police became one person.....

Maybe the person who wrote this is more concerned about their Share Rocket score?
