Headed to B-More
/WRIC (Richmond) Reporter Ava-joye Burnett is leaving the station after 4 years and headed to Baltimore.
Burnett has been hired at WJZ in B-More as a Reporter and she starts early next year. She took to social media to tell viewers that she is leaving Richmond.
"After almost four years in Richmond and at WRIC, I'll be leaving on 12/31 to start a new challenge. It really doesn't feel like I've been here for that long and I'm leaving here with a few silver strands in my hair! But this place has been incredible to me. Not only have I grown as a journalist, but I've also grown as a person.
Shout out to my co-workers who taught me a lot, much love to every single person who granted me an interview and thanks to my church family who took me in when I first moved to Richmond by myself.
In January, I'll be starting a new gig at WJZ in Baltimore. I'll be a reporter there, and I'm sooooo excited and extremely blessed.
So my friends, I'll see you the next time I log on to Instagram, Twitter or Facebook. Because I'm addicted to social media, that won't be long."
