Former Vegas News Director to Resurface in North Carolina

A year ago, FTVLive told you that KSNV (Las Vegas) News Director Craig Hume had left the station after it was purchased by Sinclair.

Now Hume is about to resurface at Time Warner Cable News as the senior regional director, managing the company's 4 news channels in North Carolina.

Here is the internal memo sent to the staff and obtained by FTVLive:

Subject: Senior Regional Director, News

He’s a veteran news leader with more than 20 years of experience managing newsrooms in small to large markets across the country.  Now, he’s bringing all that expertise to Time Warner Cable News.  I am very excited to announce that Craig Hume will be joining our team in North Carolina as the Senior Regional Director, News.

Craig began his TV career at KTLA-TV in Los Angeles, ascending from news writer all the way to news director.  From there, Craig moved across the country and into the general manager’s office to launch Central Florida News 13, a 24-hour regional news channel in Orlando that was at the time jointly owned by Tribune and Time Warner.  Craig also has served as news director for WBBM-TV in Chicago, KTNV-TV and KSNV-TV both in Las Vegas, KUSI-TV in San Diego, KDOC-TV in Orange County and WHP-TV in Harrisburg, PA.

Craig says he’s “very excited to be joining Time Warner Cable News in North Carolina, and being able to work with the talented group of experienced journalists who every day provide TWC customers with the best, most comprehensive local news, weather and sports coverage throughout the Tar Heel state.”

I am confident that Craig’s unique combination of strong editorial and leadership skills as well as his coolness under pressure will be a tremendous asset to Time Warner Cable News in North Carolina.

Craig’s first day will be Monday, November 16.

Please join me in welcoming Craig to the Time Warner Cable News family.
