Duluth Anchor Headed Behind the Lens
/KQDS Fox 21 (Duluth) Anchor Diane Alexander is leaving the station for a job in the Twin Cities.
But, don't look for her on air.
Alexander is headed to WCCO in Minneapolis as a morning Producer. She signs off from the Duluth station at the end of the November book.
In her new role, Alexander will be singularly focused on producing — which she also does now. She said she will miss the community involvement — the emceeing and volunteering that goes along with being on-air. But being on TV was never the draw for her.
"I love the thrill of news, breaking news, community journalism," she said. "I produce every day, this will be solely my role. I'm excited to focus solely on the show. Here we all wear many hats.
"Duluth is such a great city. It's been so kind to me, but I was just ready for a new challenge," Alexander told the Duluth News Tribune. "I've always enjoyed the Twin Cities area. I've had my eye on it for a while."
Alexander said WCCO-TV offers the chance to learn from people who have been in the business for decades.
