ESPN Suspends Host for 3 Weeks
/Yesterday, FTVLive told you about ESPN Host Bill Simmons and his calling out of NFL Commissioner Roger Goodell.
Simmons went off on his podcast calling NFL Commissioner Roger Goodell a lair in a in profanity-laced tirade, calling Goodell's story "fucking bullshit."
He then challenged ESPN to punish him for his take on Goodell.
“I really hope somebody calls me or emails me and says I’m in trouble for anything I say about Roger Goodell, because if one person says that to me, I’m going public. You leave me alone. The commissioner’s a liar and I get to talk about that on my podcast. Thank you.”
It appears that ESPN accepted the challenge and has suspended Simmons for 3 weeks.
You see, ESPN is scared to death of the NFL and they know how important football is to the viability of the network.
The irony of the entire thing?
ESPN suspended Simmons for 3 weeks, which is actually longer than the NFL had originally suspended Ray Rice after punching out his wife in an elevator. Rice's original suspension was just two weeks.
Fucking bullshit indeed.
Just saying....
