Chicago Anchor is Person of Interest
/WBBM co-anchor Kate Sullivan made an appearance on the crime thriller program “Person of Interest” Tuesday night.
Her role on the show was a big stretch, she played a TV news anchor.
“My mom lives south of Boston, so any time my mom can see me on TV, I’m thrilled for her,” said Sullivan, who filmed the short scene from the CBS studio a month ago. She wore her own clothes for the shoot, which was filmed before her regular anchoring duties.
It’s not the first time Sullivan has appeared on a prime-time program. Two years ago, she and her co-anchor, Rob Johnson, made an appearance on “The Good Wife,” playing Chicago TV anchors who announced election results in what turned out to be a pivotal moment of the show’s plot, she said.
Both TV appearances came after the shows contacted Sullivan’s news director at CBS 2, asking for anchors to appear on the programs.
“My boss asked me to do it, and I thought it would be fun,” Sullivan said.
She tweeted about her acting appearance hours before the show aired at 9 p.m., also on CBS:
Tonight I'll be on #personofinterest on @cbs playing the part of a news anchor! A real stretch I know!
