NBC Boss Pulls Out of "Most Powerful Women" Summit
/NBC News President Deborah Turness is not having a very good week.
First, a Photographer that NBC News hired has become infected with ebola. Then she got word that ABC's World News Tonight has passed NBC Nightly News for the first time in 5 years. And now word has leaked that Turness first choice to host Meet The Press was comedian Jon Stewart.
Word comes that the NBC boss has pulled out of Fortune’s “Most Powerful Women” summit in California on Monday.
NBC insists Turness reason for not going to the summit, is she is focusing on getting treatment for their Ebola-infected cameraman Ashoka Mukpo.
The rep told Page Six, “Deborah felt it was crucial to stay at NBC News headquarters to focus on the challenges facing our team’s health and safe return. We notified the event organizers last week she had to cancel her travel plans.”
Maybe after a week like that, she isn't feeling so powerful after all.
Just saying....
